City Escapades : The Art District of Dallas

The other weekend we ventured down the Downtown Dallas area and visited the Art District area, where the art museums are all gathered in one spot. We visited a free exhibition at the The Crow Collection of Asian Art and wished we could go visit others, but were too expensive. This is our little adventure!

We rode the Dart train system from Lake June to Pearl St. I like the idea of taking a train to work, but it was pretty creepy at night! <-- scaredy cat.

First we walked around the area (aka we got lost).

And finally found our way to the exhibition, which was absolutely beautiful!

Laura's (Mark's step-mom) classic tilt shot. Haha!

Then we headed out to have some food. We were freezing, miserable, hungry, and couldn't decide where to eat. Then I pointed and drooled at a cute little pizzeria on the corner called Carmine's. I had Spinach Ravioli, and it was amazing. Amazing. Warmed me up all the way down to my toes.

And then we headed home.

And that was our adventure!

A Giveaway from Weekly Art Date

Today I'm happy to host this great giveaway from Moira Richardson, an artist-educator living in Providence, Rhode Island. She teaches mixed media jewelry classes to teens in the afternoons and spends most of the rest of her time in her art studio. She runs the etsy shop, LiteraryTease, and is currently teaching a year-long art journal course called Weekly Art Date. Watch her art journaling videos on my YouTube channel and see tutorials, art, and more on her personal blog, Crafty Moira.

And today she's offering one entry to her current class, Weekly Art Date, to one of my lucky readers!

About the class: Weekly Art Date is a year-long art journal adventure! You'll get 40 weeks of videos and lessons, all of which is downloadable for you to keep. You'll also have access to the class for at least one year after the end of the class, so you can work at your own pace. Explore new techniques, meet new art friends, and gets lots of inspiration, all for only $45!

This giveaway is running until next Friday, the 24th! Only one entry per person by entering a comment in this post and please leave your email so we can contact the winner! Thanks everyone and good luck!
