In The Sun (Outtakes)

When I was brain storming the beginning of In The Sun, there were two pages that ended up not becoming prompts/techniques. But they're so gosh darn pretty, so I wanted to share them anyway!

Something New

I made this page while trying to come up with a technique. The cut out flower was going to be the technique, but figured it was too simple, and more common sense then anything. But I still like it a lot!

Self Portrait - The Wall Flower

And this one was my "Self Portrait, part two", and tried to turn this page into a technique as well, but it didn't work out as well as I thought.

So here you go! If you feel inspired by these, go ahead and use these as prompts too! I don't mind :)

they are both very pretty! i'm wondering what kind of pen you used to write "the start of something new." i like the effect of the writing over the graphic paper behind it. how did you do the sentences? were they just strips of paper you wrote on then glued over? or were they masked? great self portrait! is "the wallflower" hand embroidered? or written with ink pen?

Good questions!

Then pen I used for "the start of something new" and "the wallflower" is a brush tip pen from faber castell (pitt pens). The sentences were strips of paper and pasted on! :)

Just wanted to say that I absolutely love these. I wish I took the time to put together pieces like this. Instead, all of the pieces lay scattered around my craft supplies. ;]

Love your blog. Will definitely be back. :]
